Find your way around TradeLayout
A quick tour of the TradeLayout menu, from Strategies and Backtesting to Paper Trade, Live Trade and TL Community, so you know where each task lives.
Once you’re signed in, the menu at the top of the app takes you to each part of TradeLayout.
The main menu#
| Menu item | What it’s for |

| Strategies | Build and manage your trading strategies. |
| Backtesting | Test a strategy on historical market data to see how it would have performed. |
| Simulator | Replay a strategy on historical data, step by step. |
| Paper Trade | Run a strategy on live prices without real money. |
| Live Trade | Run strategies in the market through your connected broker. |
| TL Community | Share posts, charts and questions with other traders. |
A typical path#
Most traders move through TradeLayout in this order:
- Build a strategy in Strategies.
- Test it with Backtesting and the Simulator.
- Practise with Paper Trade.
- Go live once you’re confident, from Live Trade.
